Currently playing with/working on:

The Capitalist Youth is an indie rock band I play assorted instruments and sing in.  We call it “friends-in-a-room rock,” which means that it sounds like a bunch of friends in a room making music together.  Greg writes really catchy, ironic lyrics about God and girls, and we fill it in with lots of banjo and glockenspiel.  We are working on a full-length album.

The Cosmonaut Union is a music production company that I am a part of.  We record film music, and other types of music.

Gunsling Birds is a heavier indie rock band that I play bass in.  Textural music, with some funky bass lines, heavy riffs, glitchy interludes, and beautiful acoustic guitar sometimes.  We have a full-length album out, which you can purchase [here], or from iTunes, or any of the links from our website (depending on your preferred method of buying music).  We’re currently working on a trio of EPs: one loud, one soft, one remixes of the first two.  Rad.

The Solomon Douglas Swingtet/Trio/Quartet is a swinging jazz group that I play bass (and sometimes trombone) with.  We have two albums out, one of which I played trombone on, as well as recorded and mixed.  You can buy those albums [here].  Another album or two in the works, recorded in Montreal at the end of an awesome tour in late 2009.

Aura Sonic, Ltd. is a mobile, location and live recording company that I am a part of.  Steve Remote has been recording for over 30 years, and has encountered enough situations so that he knows how to prepare for everything.  I have gotten to assist him on recordings with Average White Band, Chicago with Earth, Wind and Fire, jazz saxophonist James Carter, a host of bands and musicians at the Newport jazz and folk festivals (including Fleet Foxes, the Decemberists, Neko Case, Dave Brubeck, Michel Camilo, Esperanza Spaulding, and others).  It is usually a blast.  It is always insane.  If you need a live recording, or a truck with a controlled audio/video environment for any use, we can do that.

Einstein’s Dreams is a post-rock/improvisational chamber band, which mostly exists in my head, but we have a couple of tracks which you can download [here].
